Updated: Jul 1, 2023

Nowadays, we hear more and more about the harmful effect, that social media have on us. By analogy, we should reduce the time we spend on them and it will make us happier. :) But is it really true? No doubt social media help us communicate with other people faster, stay in touch with people we admire, make us forget about the hardships of everyday life, and simply entertain us. So why is social media evil?

To explain this, I would like to share with you the stories of people, who did make an effort-stopped using those platforms and said they don't regret their choice.

According to Sam Holstein, quitting social media changed her life for the better.

1. It freed up an unbelievable amount of time for her.

She never feels busy and in a hurry. Cutting off those apps gave her a feeling of simplicity and relaxation.

2. She stopped spending time on unnecessary pop culture gossip.

She isn't affected anymore by the latest drama and can focus her time and energy on more productive and developing her things.

3. Mental health

She stopped comparing herself with others. I don't think there is a need to say anything more

4. Right Priorities

She stopped caring and worrying about taking photos, looking good, etc. "Places that were good for posting about were better places to be."

5. Improved relationships

Quitting social media made her socialize and meet dozens of new people.

6. Better conversations

It made her more interested in other people, their lives, and what they wanted to say. She started enjoying contact with people more.

7. Saving money

The distraction of advertisements was gone. She started buying products of better quality and cheaper because she had to rely on herself in purchasing not on what was recommended or the most popular.

8. More naturality

She stopped caring about posing, and looking good because of photos. She just started enjoying life.

Another person, who took the challenge is the owner of the channel "Goal Guys'. His benefits are:

1. Mental rest

2. Overcome of addiction

3. Bigger attention span and memory

4. better work habits

5. more time

There were profits from quitting social media. Do you feel convinced to try to reduce spending time on social media? Good luck :) I keep my fingers crossed you will succeed.
