The youngest billionaire

Who is the lucky guy?

The youngest self-made billionaire at the moment is Alexandr Wang, a 25-year-old American. According to Forbes, his reported 15% ownership in his firm is worth $1 billion, earning him this title.

Childhood years

He grew up in New Mexico where his parents, who were both physicists, worked at the Los Alamos National Laboratory. He took part in his first contest because he wanted to win a trip to Disneyland. He won it and started participating in more and more maths and coding competitions. By the time he was seventeen, he was already working full-time for Quora, where he was a technical leader. Alexandr graduated from Los Alamos High School and started studying Mathematics and Computer Science at MIT but dropped out at nineteen in order to work at Scale AI - a company of which he is the CEO.

His company

He co-founded a company called Scale AI in 2016 with Lucy Guo to help businesses prepare and train AI systems. It’s the largest company in the sector, valued at about 7.3 billion dollars, so it's used in multiple industries from government and self-driving cars to robotics, virtual reality, and the military. So far Scale AI has worked with companies like Toyota, PayPal, and Flexport.

Help for Ukraine

Alexander Wang is currently donating Scale’s technology to help analyze satellite images of the impact Russian attacks and military campaigns have on Ukraine. It identifies damage and rates it on a three-point scale in order to assess its span. The technology is used mainly by the US government, but anyone can take a look at the plans made by it on the Scale’s internet site.
