What's up in fashion world- quick sum up of September
With the end of September the Fashion month came to an end. The four-week cycle of presenting upcoming trends for spring 2027 has brought a lot of shocks and new perspectives but also amazing trends I can’t wait to see on the streets, when the weather will becomes nice again. But after all, having watched many runways presented by a lot of amazing designers what I am most excited to tell you about is Magda Butrym’s debut during the New York FW. During the Paris Fashion Week we were also presented with Rhode's debut in Europe, which was really spectacular. During Milan fashion week we were also able to see an amazing but really controversial Vogue World Show.
However, based on all of the runways with completely different aesthetics, we can conclude what all the fashion people are going to wear next season. So here are five of trends most often seen on the runaway:
The Return of the Skirt
The Return of the Skirt is a trend for Spring/Summer 2027. Designers are showing skirt shapes: knee‑length, midi, pencil, pleated and asymmetrical. Skirts are no longer a feminine or elegant item. They appear with T‑shirts, sporty pieces, oversized jackets and plain tops. This trend moves away from trousers as the default and adds more flexible, expressive and refined proportions to everyday wardrobes thus creating a fresh sense of style for modern outfits everywhere and beyond.
Sheer Fabrics and Lingerie Dressing
The Sheer Fabrics and Lingerie Dressing trend continues into Spring/Summer 2027. Designers use fabrics such as chiffon, lace, mesh and organza to create layers that show parts of the body without feeling too provocative. Transparent skirts, sheer blouses and delicate dresses are often mixed with tailored coats or plain everyday tops. This creates a contrast between soft transparency and strong structure making it easier for anyone looking for style to wear bright modern outfits in everyday life.
Bold Colours and Maximalism
The Bold Colours and Maximalism trend is strong for Spring/Summer 2027. Designers move away from neutral shades and choose bright hues like cobalt blue, hot pink orange, yellow and gold. Many looks mix bold colours and bold patterns instead of sticking to one statement. Sequins, eye‑catching prints and big accessories add drama. The result feels energetic, playful and personal, encouraging people to mix colours and create lively outfits for everyone and share the joy today.
Handmade Details and DIY Aesthetics
The Handmade Details and DIY Aesthetics trend celebrates craftsmanship in Spring/Summer 2027. The collections feature embroidery, appliqué, patchwork, painted effects and visible construction. Airbrushed graphics appear on the pieces, giving garments a personal artistic feel. Of flawless digital finish the pieces show small imperfections and the hand behind each design. This trend reflects a desire for individuality, authenticity and a contrast with the minimal style of recent seasons for those who love unique touches.
Life Dressing and High‑Low Styling
The Real‑Life Dressing and High‑Low Styling trend shows that runway fashion can fit everyday life in Spring/Summer 2027. Designers combine pieces with casual, sporty and practical clothes. Tailored jackets are worn with T‑shirts skirts paired with sneakers and denim or track pieces mixed with garments. The high‑low mix makes outfits feel fashionable but not overly constructed. The trend suggests that modern wardrobes are flexible allowing levels of formality to coexist in one look.

During the fashion month in the Vittorio Emmanuele II’s gallery, took place the Vogue World show. It was opened by Gigi Hadid in an amazing dress and there was a continuation of many fascinating outfits. The event also included music and dances, which combining all of these created an incredible art show. However it left huge controversies, when after all of these human-created show interactive dancing robot came in. Many guests decided not to hide their disgust. In my personal opinion, it was highly improper and useless, but I am waiting to hear your opinion.

During the fashion week we also had a chance to observe the first collection of Demna in Gucci. The designer known for controversial collections for Balenciaga, was expected to turn Gucci into another Balenciaga, but he did something completely different. He bring back Gucci to an old and well known aesthetic- quiet luxury, old patterns, layers etc. So now the only question is whether this NEW ERA of GUCCI is a planned marketing strategy to increase sales or the designer really decided to bring Gucci old prestige and customers’ love.
And I almost forgot that the Galiano Met Gala was cancelled, which I am really sad about. His new collection for ZARA is out now and is already getting a lot of criticism for its price and quality of materials.
Well, summing up it was a really interesting month for all of us fashion lovers and I’m really looking forward to what October will bring us.
