In this month's issue: blessing winter sports a lot (you don't want me to name them all here), tennis because the break was really really short, mentioning football just because. Ready? Set? GO!
SKI JUMPING
Look right into my eyes and try to seriously ask, whether I could start with something else. The answer is obviously no. Green light from Borek Sedlak, we can start.
MEN
WORLD CUP
So, overall ranking of World Cup didn't change very much. Dawid Kubacki is still in lead after 13 individual competitions. But the top athletes are in very similar form, so the fight is of course still on.
Here is top 3 of current overall results (as for the 16th January 2023):
Rank | Name and country | Points |
1 | Dawid Kubacki (Poland) | 1010 |
2 | Halvor Egner Granerud (Norway) | 896 |
3 | Anze Lanisek (Slovenia) | 872 |
Last weekend's competitions were in Zakopane (Poland ofc). Even though there were someproblems with the wind, competitions were. kind of nice. Saturday one was much better, Sunday one was... acceptable.
Saturday pleased with the first team competition of the season, won by Austria, followed by Poland (LOSING BY 1 POINT FOR GOD'S SAKE) and Germany.
Sunday's individual competition was won by Halvor Egner Granerud, followed by Dawid Kubacki (WHO AGAIN LOST BY 1.1 POINT FOR GOD'S SAKE, okay I'm calm) and Stefan Kraft (Austria).
4 HILLS TOURNAMENT
The most popular ski jumping tournament already happened. If you didn't watch it - regret it, because it was wonderful. It was a great edition, at great level. So, who won? Halvor Egner Granerud! He won by 1191.2 points! Second was Dawid Kubacki with 1158.2 points. The point note of Halvor was the highest note ever. And note of Dawid was just a few points lower than the previous record note.
