March World Cup Sports Combined

Updated: Jul 1, 2023

In this month's issue: crying because it is the end of season for winter sports and pretty much only it (okay, featuring F1 and football).

Ready? Set! GO!

So I say, thank you for the season/For giving it to me

Changing lyrics of ABBA’s “Thank you for the music” a little bit. This is the end. Winter came to an end and so did winter sports (okay, until summer season and plastic covers). A lot was happening - lots of lots of competitions, world championships etc. etc. Not gonna lie - it would take a few articles to recap all of it. But let me present to you the top 3 overall athletes of some of the disciplines, and winners of other classifications.

Nordic Skiing

Ski jumping:

Men Overall:

  1. Halvor Egner Granerud (Norway)

  2. Stefan Kraft (Austria)

  3. Anze Lanisek (Slovenia)

  4. Dawid Kubacki (Poland)

Needed to mention Dawid on fourth place. He had a great season but had to end it earlier because of his wife's illness. Sport doesn't matter in such situation, family is first. Ski jumping community knows it as well, there is a reason why it is a ski jumping family. Everyone sends best wishes to them.
